YAMA SEIKI decades experience in bridge type machining center machine building and technology development combined with worldwide leading five axes head created the brand new MEGA5 series five axes bridge type machining centers. MEGA5 series are equipped with X, Y, Z, B, C five axes simultaneous movement control; vertical, horizontal machining and even intricate shape parts machining can be easily completed in one set up. Thus greatly increases the cutting capability and efficiency of large parts to cope with machining requirements in all kinds of industry.
Both HSK-A100 12,000 rpm high torque heavy duty spindle and HSK-A63 24,000 rpm high speed spindle are available for heavy cutting or fine finishing. Fixed columns or gantry type solutions are available for selection based on work piece size or weight. Comprehensive cutting solutions provide you best solution for upgrading capability required for high value added products.
High Rigidity B, C Dual Axis Universal Milling Head
Modular design, symmetric fork structure, DD motor installed on each side of fork structure, the spindle motor is installed in the center of rotary axis.
One-piece casting in GGG40 nodular graphite cast iron possesses higher rigidity and vibration damping capability.
Integrated direct-driven motor along with hydraulic clamping system in B, C axis; if compared with traditional worm gear design provides multiple benefits like higher accuracy, zero backlash and low wear out.
Integrated water cooling circuit effectively reduces thermal deformation.
Coolant through spindle at 20 Bar is optional available.
High rigidity cross roller bearings ( diameter B-axis : 150 mm ( 5.9" ) / C-axis : 320 mm ( 12.5" ) ) can withstand higher axial load, radial load and coupled load in both direction.
Hydraulic clamping system effectively locked both rotational axes to support heavy cutting at fixed angle.

Powerful High Speed Spindle with Accuracy
Whole series of MEGA5 can select HSK-A100 high torque spindle for heavy cutting or HSK-A63 24,000 rpm high speed spindle. MEGA5 series is not only suitable for high speed high accuracy cutting but also suitable for heavy cutting at low rpm range.
Maximum torque output
High accuracy built-in motorized spindle thermal expansion reaches stable state within 10 minutes from machine cold start. Even under long time continuous machining, the spindle thermal expansion variation is still within 0.01 mm ( 0.0003" ) range.

High rigidity roller type linear guide ways on the X, Y axis combine benefits of both box ways and linear guide ways which offer heavy duty cutting, fast movement and low abrasion capabilities. Rigidity and movement control features are substantially increased.
Z-axis extra large size linear guide ways along with larger saddle and high rigidity box structure headstock provides best cutting rigidity.
One-piece bed utilizes compound four guide ways support is enlarged proportional to the length of travel range avoiding table overhang problem while ensuring best support rigidity.
Wide span symmetrical center-driven design with X-axis ball screw placed in the center of axial movement provides high precision axial feeding features, avoids movement yawing problem and guide ways uneven wear out due to eccentric driven design as in other manufacturers.
The ball screw vibration absorber equipped for in machines with 6 m travel and above reduces the vibration of ball screw to increase machining accuracy.
40 tools chain type tool magazine effectively raises machining efficiency. Tool exchange procedure is done outside of machining area to avoid cutting chips contamination on tools.

Gantry type structure provides highest structural rigidity and dynamic performance. X-axis travel can expand according to customer requirements, Y-axis travel equipped with patented “ Crossbeam Adjustment Mechanism ” can reach maximum span at 7 m ( 275.5" ).
X-axis dual ball screws, dual servo motors and dual linear scale synchronous controlled driving system ensures ultimate dynamic accuracy.
Extra high rigidity roller type linear guide ways for Y-axis combine benefits of both box way and linear guide ways which offer heavy duty cutting, fast movement and low abrasion capabilities.
Z-axis extra large size linear guide ways along with larger saddle and high rigidity box structure headstock provides best cutting rigidity.
Back lash free rack and pinion driving system is implemented on machine with X travel equal or greater than 6 m ( 236.2" ) or Y travel at 7 m ( 275.5" ). X / Y / Z axes HEIDENHAIN 1 µm resolution linear scale guarantees maximum accuracy of large machines.
20 tools drum type tool magazine ( optional 40 tools ) effectively raises machining efficiency, tool exchange procedure is done outside of machining area to avoid cutting chips contamination on tools.
